A gathering of Democratic U.S. officials on Tuesday asked Facebook Inc (FB.O) to drop plans for a form of photograph sharing application Instagram for youngsters more youthful than 13, saying the web-based media organization had neglected to "make significant responsibilities to securing kids on the web."
"Facebook has a reasonable record of neglecting to secure kids on its foundation," the officials said in a joint proclamation.
